Eileen Muller It is with heavy hearts that we share with the membership that Eileen Muller passed away in Florida on January 19, 2021. Eileen served as President of Local 1482 Brooklyn Library Guild from 2002 until her retirement in 2017. Prior to stepping into the role as President, she served as the Local's Treasurer.
Eileen started her career at the library in 1995 as a Clerical Aide. She earned a Bachelor's Degree through DC37's campus at the College of New Rochelle, which led to a position at the library as a Librarian Trainee, and eventually a Masters Degree in Library Science at Pratt.
Throughout her tenure, Eileen prioritized fighting for promotional opportunities for the members of Local 1482, and in 2006 she was awarded by the American Library Association for those efforts.
A viewing for Eileen will be held on Thursday, January 28 in Marine Park, and a funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 29. Information on both the viewing and funeral is found here.
