The next General Membership Meeting of Local 1482 is scheduled for Monday, February 1 at 7:00 pm.  It will be conducted on Zoom.  Local 1482 members are invited to fill out this RSVP form to register for the meeting. 

On Sunday evening, January 31st, we will email the Zoom login information to all Local 1482 members who submit the form.  We will also email the login information at 6:00 pm on February 1st to everyone who submits the form later on January 31st, and before 6:00 pm on February 1st.  

There is a PDF of the full Local 1482 meeting schedule for 2020-2021 available for members to print out and post it on the union bulletin boards in your work locations.  

It is with heavy hearts that we share with the membership that Eileen Muller passed away in Florida on January 19, 2021.  Eileen served as President of Local 1482 Brooklyn Library Guild from 2002 until her retirement in 2017.  Prior to stepping into the role as President, she served as the Local's Treasurer.

Eileen started her career at the library in 1995 as a Clerical Aide.  She earned a Bachelor's Degree through DC37's campus at the College of New Rochelle, which led to a position at the library as a Librarian Trainee, and eventually a Masters Degree in Library Science at Pratt.

Throughout her tenure, Eileen prioritized fighting for promotional opportunities for the members of Local 1482, and in 2006 she was awarded by the American Library Association for those efforts.

A viewing for Eileen will be held on Thursday, January 28 in Marine Park, and a funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 29.  Information on both the viewing and funeral is found here.  

Local 1482 will hold a Special Membership Meeting on Friday, January 15 at 7:00 pm.  It will include a discussion of members' concerns regarding the library's COVID-19 policies, as well as an opportunity to hear the special committee's report on Gender Inclusive Language.  

The meeting will be held over Zoom, and we invite members to RSVP via this form.  We will send the login information to those who respond in the evening on January 14.  For those who RSVP later on January 14, and before 6 pm on January 15, we will share the login information at 6 pm on January 15.
