Executive Board Results and Notification of Runoff Election for Librarian VP

12/8/2020

At the General Membership Meeting held on December 7, the Election Committee shared a letter that summarized the results of the election for Local 1482 officers.  The winning candidates are listed in the document embedded below.  A runoff election for the office of Librarian Vice President will be conducted because no candidate received 50 percent of the votes submitted.
The runoff election for Librarian Vice President is between the top two candidates in the original election, Vivian Parham and Catherine Skrzypek.  Ballots were mailed out by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) to all eligible Local 1482 members on December 3.  Ballots must be received in the mail at AAA by December 21.

Members who do not receive a ballot by Wednesday, December 9 should phone the AAA as soon as possible.  The phone number is 212-484-4136.  The AAA will be able to verify you as a member of Local 1482 and resend your ballot.

All questions about the runoff election should be directed to the Election Committee at local1482election@gmail.com.

Election Update: New Ballots Being Mailed, deadline to Return Is Now November 23rd

11/4/2020

There was a misprint on the ballots to elect officers to the Executive Board that were mailed to members on October 27, 2020.  The error has been corrected.  New ballots have been prepared and will soon be in the mail to the membership.

The misprint erroneously ran a second name alongside Ronaldo Barber's name in the list of candidates for President.  Please discard these ballots if you still have them.  The replacement ballots are the ones that must be used to elect contested offices on the Executive Board.

Mail in the replacement ballot even if you already mailed in the original ballot.  The original ballots are void and will not be counted.

If you do not receive your ballot by Saturday November 7, phone the American Arbitration Association at 212-484-4136.  If you have any questions about the Local 1482 election, please address them to the Election Committee.  Their email address is Local1482election@gmail.com.

The new ballots must be received in the mail at the American Arbitration Association by 9:00 am on Monday, November 23.  Please take care to follow the instructions in your election packet and make sure you are preparing your ballots correctly.

The following letter from the Election Committee will be enclosed in the new ballots:

Dear DC 37 Local 1482 Member:

This letter is to inform you that the ballot mailed to members on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, contained an error for the office of President. Enclosed in this ballot packet is a replacement ballot reflecting the new ballot reception deadline of Monday, November 23, 2020, at 9:00 AM.

Please note that the original ballot will be rendered VOID. Please use the enclosed replacement ballot to cast your vote in this election.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Thank you
